TAG: Mid Year Book Freak Out!
Updated: Feb 15, 2021
Hey guys, this book tag has been around for years but this is the first time I have even done it. So I hope you read and enjoy <3
1. Best book you’ve read so far in 2020.
The best book I have read this year would be Kingdom of Souls by Rena Barron. Luckily, I was sent an arc of this wonderful book and honestly it captured me with every single word. The book is about this girl called Arrah who is from a long line of Witch Doctors but unfortunately, her powers have not yet manifested after waiting years. So she decides to do something about it, she trades years of her life for magic but then children from the kingdom start disappearing so she decides that it’s her mission to find the culprit and stop them. 2. Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2020
Supernova by Marissa Meyer. This book is apart of the Renegades series and if you haven’t read them, then you definitely should. The twists and turns in the series are ones to die for. Literally. 3. New release you haven’t read yet but want to. I would like to read Empire of Gold by S.A Chakraborty but that also means reading the second book because I still haven’t read that. And also A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown sounds interesting. 4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year. I haven’t actually got a clue. I know the Lost Book of the White is coming out this year and that I have the special edition pre-ordered. But I’m not sure. 5. Biggest disappointment. Well, I would have to say Crescent City by Sarah J Maas because I got into a reading slump by reading it. Pushed my way through it. Might read it again when I have the energy to do so. 6. Biggest surprise. Kingdom of Souls once again. 7. Favorite new author (Debut or new to you) Kester Grant has a way with words. 8. Newest fictional crush. I don’t really have any bookish crushes maybe Manny or Queens from the City We Became 9. Newest favorite character. Harper from A Curse so Dark and Lonely. Damn, that girl is something 10. A book that made you cry Lovely War by Julie Berry. That book is so sad. We follow Aphrodite as she is telling the story of two couples torn from each other by war and honestly, it’s so heartbreaking. 11. A book that made you happy Queen of Nothing by Holly Black just because that series was so good but I’m sad to see it finished. 12. The most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received) Court of Miracles by Kester Grant because the cover is absolutely stunning. Including the naked book. I will insert photo here.
13. What books do you need to read by the end of the year Too many. Don’t even ask. As long as I can hit my goodreads goal of 50 I’m good. (Two books away)
