TAG: The Valentine's Day Book Tag

1. Stand-alone Book You Love

The City we became. Honestly the premise alone does it for me. But this book is about the city of New York coming to life. You may think this is figuratively but I mean it literally. The city comes to life and each part of the city is given a person that becomes that part. Say like the bronx, the persona of the bronx comes to life in a person. It’s a really interesting concept that N.K Jemisin really does well and is pretty much a love letter to the City of New York.

Edit Note: Upon writing this, I was lead to believe that it was indeed a standalone but have found out that it is not.

2. Dystopian Book You Love

One of my favourite Dystopia books that I love besides the most obvious few would be the Arc of a Scythe series that consists of, Scythe, Thunderhead and The Toll by Neal Shusterman. This series is set in a dystopian world where death has been over come and now the only way people can die is if a Scythe ‘gleans’ them and that means once they have been chosen to be ‘gleaned’ there is no coming back from that.

3. Book That You Love But No One Else Talks About.

To be honest, I feel like all the books that I love are talked about a lot such as the Poppy War by R.F Kuang

5. Book That Other People Love But You Haven’t Read Yet

I really want to get to Jade City by Fonda Lee and the rest of the Red Rising series by Pierce Brown as I have only read Red Rising.

8. You were given a box of chocolates. What fictional boyfriend/girlfriend would have given them to you?

I don’t really have any fictional boyfriends or girlfriend but I will gladly take the box of chocolates. Thanks.

9. You are single on Valentine’s Day. What book would you read? What TV show would you watch? What movie would you watch?

I would probably end up reading a contemporary romance like the sequels to the Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory. TV show will literally be whatever I’m binging at the time and movie would probably be Soul on Disney+ as I have yet to watch that and it looks so good.

10. You are in the book store. All of a sudden you get shot with an arrow by Cupid. What new release will you love?

I feel like I will love a Court of Silver Flames and having read many of Becky Chambers books, I know I will love The Galaxy and The Ground Within. Both of these books are due out in a couple of days. (February 16th 2021)
